My name is Ken Starbird. My grandfather, George S Starbird, lived on Long Island Maine. I have always been told our surname began as STARBUCK and was changed to STARBIRD somewhere in Maine way, way back. Can anyone direct me to any information about these surnames history? Please post or email: scofield.ak@gmail.com Thanks! |

There was a Charles C. Starbuck in a Portland city directory of 1834 living on Cumberland and working as an iron founder. In 1880 there was a Charles E. Starbuck in Boston married to a Maine born wife. In 1920, George Starbuck of Plymouth, Mass. was married to a Maine born wife, Clara. Just some hints. Starbuck is not a very common Maine name. |

I'm actually wondering if you have any information on the Starbird history, as my great grandmother was Emma Starbird (1896-1986) of Maine. Thanks. |
