i am working on my husbands family tree and i have hit a dead end with Betsy Elizabeth Morse. I have that she married a man named Allen Davis and they had a daughter named Emily Lovina or Lavina Davis (my husbands great great great grandmother on his moms side). i think she was born about 1873, i want to say in Maine but i am not 100% sure. I know that she married Frederick Clark of Machais Maine, born feb. 1871. any info would be great. |

I think I may have found your families in the Census reports. I Started by looking for Emily in the 1920 Census with her husband Frederick Clark. In that census she is listed as Elos Emily L. Clark. In the 1930 Census (both in Machias, Washington Co., ME) she is listed as just Emily. Both Census say she and her parents were born in Maine. I then tried to find her by using Louisa and found her in 1880 in Machias living with her parents. Her father is listed as being Ambrose A. (probably the Allen) Davis, and her mother listed as Betsey E. Davis. This is probably why you are having problems finding them. I can send you the copies of the census images if you would like them. Hope this helps. |
