Found some more information on George Washington Blake. He was born Jun 1870 in possibly Freedom, ME, d. Oct 1953 in Hallowell. George & Mary Jane moved to Atkinson, Maine, where both are buried. Georges parents are Henry Blake and Mary Ann Clifford. Does this ring a bell with anyone? | ||

I am trying to get a date of death and confirmation of marriage for my 3rd GGrandfather George D. Blake b. 27 August 1824, married to a Rebecca (assumed to be Moody)18 April 1847. (I got this information from other Ancestry Trees-however there are no citations to verify) Date of death is before 1880. Again on Ancestry.com, the last city directory I have 1863 lists him in it. The next on 1880 lists Rebecca as a widow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you | ||

Gammi- I just asked this question to Maine Archives. They directed me to the Church of the Ladder Day Saints in my area. The church received many files on film from the individual towns in Maine, and have archived them. Hopefully you will have luck there. I am headed over to my local church myself. |
