I am searching for info on my great grand-aunt, Kate Mattock, who eloped with a Fred Joyce in 1890 and settled / married in Lisbon Falls, Maine. They were both from Wiltshire in England. Immigration records for 1890 do not seem to exist (destroyed in fire?). Neither is there any census record of them. I do know they had a daughter, Florence Gertrude Joyce, in 1893 and that Kate died in 1899. I have also found Fred with a 2nd wife, Eliza, on subsequent censuses.
Does anyone know where I could discover their first address in Lisbon Falls? I am running out of ideas! |

Have you tried checking the Registry of Deeds Of rht husband? It might locate where they bought if they did. Also---check with the library in the town to see if they have anything like a city directory for the years she lived there. If they have it, it will give their address.
