I am collecting information about Randall Ridge in Maxfield Maine. Associated names include Lancaster and Tourtillotte.

I have tons of info on the Tourtillottes and also have ties to the Varny family, not sure if my line ties into yours or not. Tell me who you are looking for exactly and I will check for you.

Brenda:
Thank you for your reply. I am most interested in the Varney family who lived in Lowell, Maine until 1881 or 1882. Jedediah Varney helped to establish Lowell. He died in 1878. Jedediah married Eleanor Tourtilotte and their children included Levi Varney. Levi Varney married Lydia Page in the 1850s and their children included: Abbie E. and Levi Jr. Abbie married Charles W. Hovey in 1872 and the 1880 census shows them living next to Levi and Lydia. The entire family left Lowell after the death of Levi in 1880. Abbie and Charles lived with their children Herbert, Annie, Linnie and Eva in Bangor until the turn of the century. Herbert went on to become sheriff of Piscataquis County for a time and lived in Milo with his family. He married Ivy Lancaster from Randall Ridge in Maxfield Maine.

I believe Levi, Jr. lived in Lagrange or Milo and the two families were friendly.

My research has also turned up Tourtillotes living among the Lancaster family on Randall Ridge in Maxfield, Maine. Levi Varney's middle name was Lancaster, so I'm wondering if there was a connection between the families.
Look forward to your response.

The following is descended from Reuben Lancaster, Iva (Ivy) Lancaster's brother. Their father was Willis Stolton Lancaster.

REUBEN H. LANCASTER JR.
MILO - Reuben Harrison Lancaster Jr., 86, husband of the late Doris Pearle (Davis) Lancaster, died June 1, 2006, at a Dexter healthcare facility. He was born Feb. 23, 1920, in the Randall Ridge section of Maxfield, the son of Reuben H. and Elizabeth (Staples) Lancaster Sr. He attended school at Barnard and Seal Cove on Mount Desert Island and after moving to Brownville in December 1927, graduated from Brownville High School in 1937.
