Can anyone tell me how I can get past my geneology brickwall? My paternal greatgrandfather, William Lahey was born, Sept. 1856, Fort Kent, Aroostock, ME. I know he married Ellen Coote there in 1881. The problem is, there was a fire around the turn of the century, that distroyed county records. As a result, I cannot locate William Lahey's parents, siblings, etc. Any pointers on getting around this. I have checked at the State Archives and they don't have county records from Fort Kent during that time period. Help!!
