Edward and Mary Conneen came from western Ireland to Portland around 1858. They had a grocery at 124 Monument Street for many years. Their children were John, Edward Jr. and Daniel. John married Elizabeth O'Rourke in the 1880s and their children were Lillian, Marion, Bessie and John Jr. My great grandmother was Marion, she was married to Charles Dugan and their daughters were Marion and Barbara.
There was another family named Conneen, Dr. Thomas F. Conneen-probably a cousin of John?
Sure would love know if there are any Conneen relatives left in Portland. |
