Thought that this update might provide you some insight to provide some suggestion of how I should best proceed. I have reached a point that is preventing my moving further.

My branch of the family begins in New Berlin NY with my grandfather
Clarence Green Walker, Born:1 May 1895 New Berlin NY and tracks back through

Alvin Green Walker, Born: 27 June 1867 died in New Berlin, NY

Edwin Green Walker, Born: October 1843 died in New Berlin, NY

Thomas Green Walker, Born 1816, Gill, Franklin, Mass Died in New Berlin, NY

Samuel Walker, Born 3 February 1779, Gill, Franklin, Mass married Martha Green of Gill Mass died in Burlington, Otsego Co

William Walker, Born Dec 17, 1754 Falmouth (Portland) Cumberland Co, Maine Married Elizabeth Stanhope

Upon reaching this point I begin to lose certainty, but it initially appears that his father MAY have been :
George Walker who married Elizabeth Snow. However, rather than just accepting the many family trees that seem to have conflicting information, I have made a real effort to use primary sources to assure accuracy.

My “brick wall” comes when I get to Maine. Not being overly familiar with the proximity of the towns and villages, especially as they have changed since those early times, is not helping. It seems there was a lot of change, as well as movement of people, during the era. Too, I am not overly familiar with how best to proceed to establish something certain and definitive based upon primary sources. Living in Atlanta, Georgia limits my own search to the help of others and that which I can find online.

I have found various records from Falmouth and Kittery Point, but with multiple William and George Walkers in Maine and Massachusetts, how does one proceed with any real assuredness that they are even tracking the correct line? Or, simply stated, how do I best proceed to establish reliable, primary source linkages between William, George and information regarding their predecessors. At this point, all of the many records and entries are seeming to overwhelm.

Settlers in Falmouth (now Portland) were likely pushed south toward Kittery, New Hampshire and Massachusetts by Native Americans (who were trying to establish an immigration policy) at about this time. York County records in Alfred, Maine, reveal some deeds or probate materials to support some connections. York County was essentially the only county in Maine at the time.

Douglas, I just discoverd yyour kind reply. I have thoroughly substantiated which William Walker:

Micah Walker: Birth 22 Jan 1727 Sudbury, Middlesex Co, MASS, Marriage 14 Jul 1750 Cumberland Co, ME Beulah Wooster b: 1732 d: May 29, 1759 New Gloucester, Cumberland Co., Maine

July 14, 1750 “Early Falmouth Marriage Intentions” Micah Walker of New Marblehead with Beulah Wooster of Fal.,

William Born: 1754 Portland/Falmouth, Cumberland County

1775 Micah and Elizabeth baptize children in New Gloucester Maine

1759 .Micah Walker of N. Marblehead with Eliz. Stinsfield of N. Gloucester,

1796, Nov. 24 Beulah Walker of Gray to William Strickland of Turner, Early Falmouth Marriage Intentions

-1774 (age 20), he was living in Sudbury, Mass, and he volunteered as a minute man in Captain John Nixon's Company.

April 19, 1775 (age 21), he marched to Concord and was in the battle. He subsequently served at Cambridge for two weeks before being discharged and returning home. William Walker marched to Concord with the South Militia of Sudbury under the command of Lt. Colonel Ezekiel How and Captain Moses Stone. The Sudbury Companies of Militia and Minute are very grateful to Col. How. He was the original innkeeper for the Wayside Inn, www.wayside.org. (Note family links to HOWE line through William and his wife Elizabeth Stanhope) There also were an Elisha Walker and an Abner Walker who were also in the same South Militia. The South Militia, upon hearing the alarm, met at the Sudbury Common Training Field and marched towards Concord eventually making it to the North Bridge albeit after the Redcoats had departed. The South Militia eventually engaged the Redcoats at Merriam's Corner, Hardy's Hill and the Bloody Angle.

May 9, 1775 (age 21), First Marriage: Lydia Parmenter (she was born June 24, 1756 in Sudbury, Middlesex, Mass) “Vital Records of SUDBURY (Middlesex Co) MASS to 1850”

June 1775 (age 21), he was called out on an alarm to reinforce the army during the battle of Bunker Hill, but was not in the battle. He served a week before returning home.

1776 (age 22), he volunteered into Captain Asahel Wheeler's Company of Colonel Jonathan Reed's Regiment and served six months at Ticonderoga and Crown Point before returning home to Sudbury.

NOTE: After his service, he married in Bolton and moved to Gill, Massachusetts.

May 29,1777 (age 23) 2nd Marriage: Spouse Elizabeth of Bolton, MASS, and William Walker,
, in Bolton. (Mass)

February 3, 1779 (age 25) Son Born, Samuel Walker, son of William & Elisabeth, [born]”

NOW I am trying to establish better linkages to be absolutely certain whether THIS William was the one who was the son of Micah Walker. I THINK that the best way to do this would be to somehow track Micah's son William to see if I can sure where he died, who he married, and any offspring. A LOT of Walker fathers with Williams in that era. What I have on this William is thoroughly documented with original sources, but I am far less certain of Micah being his father. Apparently Micha died in Maine, but William moved on at an early age.
