Desperately trying to find others who may be connected to Joseph Twombley of Waterville ME. First time we find him is in the 1810 census. Trying also to find marriage record for him and Tryphena Hallett, probably around 1800-1810.

I was always told that my great-grandmother's maiden name was "Twombley". I later found out that that is an anglicized version of the French name "Tremblay". She lived part of her life and died and is buried in Maine, but came originally from Quebec, Canada. Her father's name was Joseph Tremblay. I have found her name spelled many different ways (Trombley, Tromberley, etc.) If you haven't already, you might want to try searching under other spellings, especially "Tremblay".
