I'm applying for membership in the DAR and have hit a brick wall linking two of my great grandfathers. My ggggg grandfather was the Revolutionary War soldier, Caleb Gordon (b. about 1755, Brentwood, NH; died 1833, Augusta, ME; wife Miriam). I can link Caleb to his son Jesse Gordon (b. August 1783, probably Brentwood, NH; died October 27, 1865, Augusta, Maine; wife Maria), but I can find nothing to formally document Jesse's link to his son, John Gordon (b. about 1808-1811, Augusta, ME; died April 11, 1867, Augusta or Farmington, ME; wife Mary Pike Gordon). John's son was my gg grandfather George Warren Gordon (b. about 1836-37, Augusta or Chesterville, ME; died May 19, 1893, Farmington, ME; wife Betsey). If anyone could help me to link John Gordon to his father Jesse Gordon I would be SO grateful and appreciative. Thank you very, very much for any attention you give this. |
