I am trying to trace my cousins' ( Michelle Mascia) family tree. She is a direct descendent of Miles Standish. Her grandfather, Miles Standish York and grandmother, Hazel York, lived in Old Orchard Beach Maine. There is a cemetary with York family members in Yarmouth ( i think that is the town) Anyone have any ideas to help me? Thank you

I would find it odd if they lived in Old Orchard Beah to be buried in Yarmouth as the two are not really close together. I checked the 1850 census and found a Miles S York living in Yarmouth. There is also a Miles S York living in Cumberland, Maine listed in the 1900 Census. Which one of these do you think you are looking for?

I did some further checking and found Miles and Hazel York living on Pleasant St in Portland in 1920. The two most likely cemeteries for Portland would be Evergreen or Forest City. You can call (207) 797-4597 to check with the city about buriel information there. Let me know if you need anything else

I did some checking and your cousin is not only a descendant of Miles Standish, but of John Alden also. Here is the line:
Miles Standish York m. Hazel
Samuel York m. Flora N. Bran
David York m. Mary Baker
Samuel York m. Elizabeth Hayes
Joseph York m. Susanna Ring**desc of Miles
Andrew Ring m. Zeruiah Standish
Ebinezer Standish m. Hannah Sturtevant
Alexander Standsh m. Sarah Alden

Alexander Standish is the son of Myles Standish and Barbara Mullins, and Sarah Alden is the daughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. Check out the link I posted above for the genealogies.
