I am looking for parentage and location of birth for Benjamin Thomas born abt 1821 according to the 1850 Census for Linconville, Maine. He was married to Sarah Jane Allen age abt 25 and had a son Charles A. age 9 months. Later they had Fred, born abt 1855, Theodore abt 1860 and Clifford born abt 1867. His mother-in-law was Abigail Allen born about 1792. She also had children Amos, Abagail and Clarinda Allen. |

I think I know the family you want. Contact Betsy Paradis--reference Librarian at the Belfast, Maine Public Free Library I think there is something in families of Lincolnville or something there. at the library. I no longer have that info but Betsey can most likely help you. think they came up to Maine from Marchfield Scituate., Mass area. Good luck margaret carter |

Vital records of Vinalhaven have a Benjamin Thomas marrying Lucy Perry in 1805. Rev. Charles Turner Thomas married Racel or May Gilkey of Islesborugh in Castine in 1788 are two leads. I agree that origins in Scituate, Massachusetts are likely. |
