I am looking for anything on an Abel Havey (b: abt. 1800). His father is supposed to be an Andrew Havey.

It is also possible that at one point the surname Havey was changed to Hovey. I have an Abel Hovey in my line but have never found him listed as a child. I have a copy of a marriage certificate for Abel Hovey/Lydia Libby for Mar. 28, 1824. But I also saw an Abel Havey married to a Lydia Libby on the same day.

Abel Havey is supposed to be the son of Andrew Havey (according to Early Families of Gouldsboro but I have been warned that this book may contain errors)

Thank you for any help.

I realize you posted this almost 4 years ago but I will reply anyway. I just started researching my father's family and found an Andrew Havey as well. Abel Havey was born to Andrew Havey and Mary Elizabeth Peters. I have that he was married to Lydia Libby as well and they had a daughter, Mary Ellen. Andrew Havey was born in Ireland in 1765 and had 6 children, Andrew Jr., Abigail Longfellow, Abel, Mary, Sarah, and Sally. Andrew Jr. was my 4th great grandfather
