I am seeking info about Florence McCarty who was a limeburner around 1860 in Rockland and lived on Trinity ST. When did he get there and on what ship from Ireland? |

I'm related to Mary McCarty circa 1828 from New Brunswick, Canada, married to John Williams circa 1811 reportedly from Ireland. Their son, Lyndon Oak Williams is my ancestor, who later moved to Deadwood, SD and later in Brooklyn, NY where he had Edmund Garford Williams (my grandfather) with "Fanny" Francis Rae. |

I am a direct descendant of Florence McCarty, MaKarty, etc. who lived in Boston as early as 1686--His presumed brother, Thaddeus, and he were original members of the Anglican church (now the Unitarian Church). I have no idea if there are connecting links, etc. but the name is unusual, and certainly early in the colonies. If you want more info please contact. I only followed the MacKarty's one addditional generation; his daughter Mary married Robert Marshall in 1717 (if memory serves me correct) and they moved to Salem. There were children, but the surname was then Marshall. |
