Elizabeth Webster was born circa 1820-1825 somewhere in Maine. Parents were born in England / Scotland. Father was Charles, mother was Amy (?).
Any information on this family greatly appreciated.
Elizabeth was my gr.gr. grandmother. She married John McEnany either in Maine or Vermont.

I'm trying to find info on my great-great grandmother, Jennie M. Webster (b. 8-21-1866 and d. 4-26-1904). She m. 4-14-84 Charles Wyman of Stratton, Maine.

Have you come across any info during your search for Elizabeth? Thanks!

Jennie Webster in the 1870 federal census is found in Township 1, Franklin County, Maine with the post office address being Eustis Plantation. She is listed as age 1 and has a brother, Leon, age 3. They are the children of Benjamin, 33 and Irma (or Irena or Irene) Webster, a farming family. It is pure speculation that the census taker transposed the ages of Leon and Jennie as evidenced by the 1880 federal census when Benjamin C. Webster is 43, Eunice is 49, Jennie is 13, Leon is 11 and Irene is 7. The 1880 federal census also suggests that Jennie's mother likely had died probably in childbirth with Jennie's younger sister, but again that is speculation. Eunice was probably a step mother. Benjamin at this time was occupied as a repairer of harnesses (this might be harrows). Once married Jennie is found in the 1900 federal census with Charles with her four children. Her birth in that census is reported to have been in August, 1866, reconfirming that the census taker in 1870 transposed her age with that of her brother.

Benjamin, the father of Jennie is found in both the 1850 and 1860 federal census for Kingfield. The information suggests that he was 23 in 1860 and 13 in 1850. His father was also Benjamin, born in about 1802 in Maine and he was a mechanic. His mother Harriet was born in 1810. He had siblings:

--William born about 1827, a blacksmith
--George, born about 1829, a carpenter
---Sybil, born about 1833
---Benjamin is here in the birth order
---John, born about 1939, who became a printer.
---Hemway, Kenway, Conroy or Conway, born about 1843.
---Eldora, born about 1846
---Emma, born about 1851

Thank you so much for your help! May I ask your source, so I can record it with this information?

Are you a relative of this family?

Thanks again.
