There were two Norcross families who migrated to Maine from Newton, Massachusetts. Jonathan Norcross, my great-great-great-great-grandfather was the first in 1760. He moved to Georgetown in 1760 (named Bath after 1781) in Lincoln County (Sagadahoc after 1854) and married Martha Springer whose father was the Inn Keeper at the time. Based on the records of births, he lived in Bath between 1760 and 1773 then moved to Winslow (Readfield in 1791) in Lincoln County (Kennebec in 1799) and around 1783 moved to the Livermore Plantation (now Livermore since 1795) in Lincoln County, (then Kennebec in 1799, then Androscoggin in 1854). There are many descendents from this Jonathan and i can provide much data on them.

In 1762 Jonathan's brother Samuel moved to Bath. He too was prolific as are his descendents and i can provide much data on that line

I can be contacted at philipgross@norcross.ca.
