I am researching my great grandfather. He entered the US from Montreal to Island Pond, Vermont April 1, 1905, then to Portland, Maine. In Portland he appeared before Com Natorhorn and was admitted.

Is "Com" and abbreviation for Commissioner? I'm not sure I've spelled the name Natorhorn correctly. Do you know if there is some way to research immigration commissioners in 1905? Were their decisions documented?

Thanks,
Andy

I think that ancestry.com has an immigratin database to various ports. I think you may have to be a member to access that database though. Try cyndislist.com. She has an extensive list of places to go.
