Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: America's Song King

February 23 – June 3, 2007

From the mid–19th century until the time of his death in 1882, composers—famous and obscure, young and old—were moved by poems written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The enormously popular American poet received copies of original music written by composers working in cities around the world. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: America's Song King presented a few of those scores, and introduced a few of those composers.
