We look forward to hosting your visit. MHS takes the safety of our staff, patrons and collections seriously, and we trust our community to support us in making our campus as safe and enjoyable as possible, while responding to current CDC guidelines.
What To Expect?
Examples of what to expect include:
- Masks are optional while indoors at MHS.
- However, masks may be required for certain activities or when local transmission levels are high. Guests should be prepared to mask upon request and adhere to day-of masks requirements.
- House and Gallery tickets are available in advance. Walk-ins are subject to availability.
- Social distancing is encouraged, please be respectful of personal space.
- The Brown Library is open, research is by appointment. Please see the Visit Us page for more information.
- We are unable to accommodate walk-in collection deliveries without an appointment.
Please refer to the Visit Us page for more information and associated links.
Remote reference and research services are available through the Ask a Librarian form, or the In-depth Research Request form. Please be patient, as services are in high demand. If you are unable to visit our store in person, please consider shopping "local" through our museum's online e-store.
Thank you for your cooperation.
As the Coronavirus continues to impact Maine, the United States and the world, the Maine Historical Society is doing our part to help us all stay as safe as possible.
