The night before the Magical History Tour we'll party at the historic Portland Masonic Temple at 415 Congress Street, Portland.

Guests will enjoy an energetic and fun live and silent auction, featuring unique items including art, travel, and experiences you can't find anywhere else!

The Cocktail Party will also feature a fashion show with Decontie & Brown, Maine designers inspired by their Penobscot heritage – a tribute to our 2019 exhibit Holding Up the Sky about Wabanaki art, history, and culture.

Location: Portland Masonic Hall. 415 Congress Street, Portland, Maine.

Food: Scrumptious light fare will be served, including a complimentary signature cocktail. A full cash bar is available throughout the evening.

Tickets: $60/adult – cocktail party only; $75/ Adult MHS Member Combo Ticket (for both party and tour); $85/ Adult General Admission (for party and tour). Get your tickets soon! Space is limited and tickets to this event often sell out early.

Join us for our fifth annual exploration of fascinating historic sites around Greater Portland that you've never seen – and maybe didn't even know existed! The Magical History Tour is your key to unlocking fascinating historical places that are not usually open to the public. The Magical History Tour is a self-guided adventure guaranteed to amaze and amuse both adults and children. Equipped with a map, and at your own pace, you will be greeted by guides at each location ready to share the history of the tour stop.

In this, our 5th year of the Magical History Tour we will be presenting an exciting mix of both new sites and favorites from years past, including the winner of our People's Choice Site Survey – voted your favorite site from the past four years!

The Magical History Tour check-in begins at 9:45 am on Saturday, May 11 at Maine Historical Society's Brown Library.  At this time, you will find out where the tour will take you as you receive your map and ticket into each site.

You can also join us for the Grand Reveal at Mr. Longfellow's Cocktail Party at Portland Masonic Hall on Friday night! Those who attend the Cocktail Party can avoid a stop at MHS on Saturday morning.

Location: The Magical History Tour starts at Maine Historical Society's Brown Library at 485 Congress Street, located next door to the Wadsworth-Longfellow House. This is where guests check in, get their maps and tickets, and can buy same-day tickets.

Tickets are $25/ Adult MHS Member (Tour Only); $35/ Adult General Admission (Tour Only); $5/ Juniors - under age 18 (Tour Only). Combination tickets to both events are also available; $75/ Adult MHS Member Combo Ticket; $85/ Adult General Admission Combo Ticket.
