RESCHEDULED: May 2021

Dive into Greater Portland's past with the ORIGINAL MHS Magical History Tour!

MHS is thrilled to host our sixth annual Magical History Tour, an amazing self-guided experience in Greater Portland, in May 2021. This family-friendly excursion allows access to fascinating historic places that aren't usually open to the public—and provides a unique opportunity for Mainers to celebrate our shared values and special sense of place.

The Tour is MHS's most important fundraiser supporting our statewide educational programs and mission to preserve and share Maine's story.

This year brings new excitement with Maine's Bicentennial. Look for sites connected to Portland life in the early 19th century at the time of Maine Statehood.

We anticipate a record-number of Magical History Tour attendees this year and could not do it without the support, enthusiasm and knowledge of our volunteers! Volunteers work half the day of the tour and are given a free ticket to the tour to enjoy either before or after their volunteer shift. Roles range from helping to staff the Breakfast to serving as a tour site greeter or docent.
